Totally slept in today and had a late breakfast with my friend Debbie…she made Toads in a Hole. Got ready and settled into the day with some singing in the apartment and making sure all my tracks were on my phone for any opportunities to perform.
Got to Rocketown for registration early afternoon and picked my breakout sessions. Chose a breakout master class session with songwriter Rob Frazier, a studio intensive breakout with Kevin McNeese founder of New Release Today and also will have a session with Robbie Busick Director of publishing with Bethel Music and Centricity. Also signed up for mentoring session with someone matched to my music…
Headed over to Ole Smokey Distillery for food and music. Several artists were selected to showcase and some of the presenters are staff on the tour. Great music and met lots of great artists. Yvonne Hartman, who I first heard of on Red’s Room, was there and performed. Awesome time.
Funny story…right as I walked into Ole Smokey, I saw Josh who is the drummer for Ryan Stevenson who is on the critique panel for the showcases. I just saw him a couple months eariler when Ryan did the concert at New Freedom Recovery Center in Phoenix. Soooo cool to actually know who he was and he was kind of shocked to see me but did remember me. I also ran into the founder of THE OBJECTIVE, Ted Bruun, just after and told him that I knew Josh. Was kind of a nice way to meet Ted for the first time.
Later, we walked back over the Rocketown and listened to several speakers and artists who travel with the Tour. They were all amazing…several hip hop artists and Jared the frontman for Saving Abel. So much energy tonight! Ted spoke about the philosophy of the Tour and why he started it.
Surprise pop up venue in the middle of an intersection that had been turned into a beachy venue with sand and everything. More options to perform but I had no keyboard with me. They said there will be other opportunities. I am excited to share but understand. I am ready!!! Party was over around midnight and Debbie came to pick me up . I AM TIRED!!! Talk to you tomorrow again…
