Hey yo…
Woke up in time to have an awesome breakfast with my friend Debbie. She made biscuits and gravy, eggs, and potatoes o brien. Was a great start to an amazing day at The Objective 24!
Day started with some really great speakers chatting with us. Kevin McNeese talked to us about How to Build Your Team…. every musician has their team, no matter how big or small, of those people who support you, want to come alongside you, and those who pray for you. Another speaker talked about how to have a plan for your music. You need to know the what…the who… the how…what are my goals. Very informative and I was engaged the whole time.
A nurse from Canada called “the singing nurse” spoke about her journey and about how the music inside of her had to get out…how she came around to realizing it could be used for an amazing purpose.
Tom Jackson was there to chat with us about several things that make a good show. We need to have a vision…What do I want the audience to feel..are you creating moments? So much thought needs to go into your set list, depending on who your audience is. There is a psychology to your show. Too many things to list here in this blog but he was ON FIRE sharing his EXPENSIVE wisdom. He shared with our group things that he normally charges thousands of dollars for with artists and bands. He took a band who came from the UK and re-worked a song right before all our eyes. The band took direction really well and it was amazing how much the song’s effectiveness and purpose changed just in one hour! He is such a good guy and also spoke about his faith and how
The remainder of the day was watching potential Extreme Tour Artists perform their showcase songs for us and have live critique from the industry professions, including Tom Jackson and his business partner, Amy. Diverse set of arts and bands. My favorite was Robenx….so good, the front man is so much in control of the flow and the band just worked so well together to rock out the house!!!!
Looking forward to tomorrow with the breakout sessions and more showcases….maybe I will even get to perform tomorrow at an unscheduled time…we shall see. Good night for now and chat with you tomorrow….having a blast here in Nashville and especially with this special group of people.
