Hello everyone… I feel like it has been way too long since I last filled you in on what is going on with me. Let me say that there have been some major changes since the last time I wrote.
I have been very blessed with a naturopath doctor who was brought to me by the Lord who has helped me immensely with my fatigue issues! Thanks Dr. Suze! I was helping out with CR at The Grove Church, just playing piano and I told her about my issues. I had no idea what type of doctor she was but God did! He put me in that place at that time so that she could hear me and help me. God has really saved my quality of life through her! I am feeling so much better and have the energy I need to live life to the fullest.
I have backed way off on my commitments for several reasons. I always try to cram too many “good things” into my week/month and I am sure that also contributed to my health concerns. That coupled with wanting to spend more time with my aging parents, has made me take a look at what areas I could to afford to spend my time.
I was working with a Christian music cooperative called AZsongs.org. to collaborate on some music to release. I was also volunteering my time up at Adobe Mountain School, including three day experiences with the staff and kiddos. I was helping out on keyboards once or twice a month for The Grove CR. I was performing on Red’s Room Online once every four months. I was going to at least one open mic a week. I was also playing a couple times a month at an old folks home. All of these things are good things but got to be too much for me.
My schedule is now down to practicing with the band once a week, filling in on Sunday when needed, seeing my parents more often, and writing music when I can. I would like to hit an open mic soon, but haven’t. I have also kept my weekly meetings with Joanie, who likes to sing music from the 20s to 40s. If I am at an open mic, it is usually because she is performing one of her tunes with that sultry voice of hers.
So, yes, I am not doing as much, but I am doing what I can and what I love for this season of my life. Mike is supportive of my choices and is so happy for me. He sees how much fun I am having with the band and is glad that I am able to do it! Love that guy!
Until next time…and I will not make it so long,
See ya!
